Firun keep you! Elaja Karbeck sent us to see you…
The priestess looks at you with elation.
She must have told you about the undead in Boron’s field.
When she notices your confusion, the priestess’ face falls markedly!
No, I guess she hasn’t, so I guess I’ll have to fill you in…
There have been unholy occurances in Boron’s field for several weeks. Boron’s servant there has been attacked by undead. And of course these things only happen when there’s no guards around!
Boron’s servant?
Eboreus Arsteener, the grave-digger, isn’t used to his customers returning to complain about the service … and far less used to his customers attacking him. Still, he was adamant about staying in his hut on the graveyard, instead of moving to an inn for a while - even though the city would have footed the bill.
If you want to take care of that, tell Eboreus that I sent you.
If you would like to look into it, just tell Eboreus I’ve sent you. You could also drop in on Thorgrim the Strong in town. The dwarf lives somewhat south of the market square. He was going to deal with the problem on his own, and it took me some effort to stop him.
Good hunting, everybody!
Firun keep you! The undead aren’t going to bother Boron’s servant any more!
You explain to the priestess that a criminal druid has murdered the real servant of Boron and taken his place. Then you lead her to the graveyard and show her the necromancer’s hideout. You pull the mask off the false gravedigger’s face.
Somewhat sheepishly, the priestess thanks you. The revelation appears to have been a bit much for her.
I’m calling down the blessing of the Gods on you for your help! I’ll notify the guards. It’s the city’s duty to get Boron’s field back in order. - If there’s anything I can do for you, please let me know.
Is there any news floating around?
I keep hearing about the pirates being at war with the guild. But I couldn’t say if that qualifies as news for you.
There’s said to be a magician living in a tower south of the town, conducting strange experiments. - That’s probably why he’s living outside of town. He’d hardly be suffered within the city walls!
Do you know anything about the part the Holberkians are playing in the orc uprising?
Since the orcs have started attacking the Svellt towns, the attitude of the citizens towards the Holberkians has taken a distinct turn for the worse. The Holberkians, on the other hand, haven’t changed a bit. I can’t imagine them playing any part in the orc uprising.
Do you know something about the rat-catcher, by any chance?
Xebbert Drbann is a dubious character. People say he’s taken up his profession because he shuns the light of day. But he is thoroughly loyal to the corporation. He’s even led whole guard squadrons through the sewers.
We’ve heard rumors that the tradesmaster and the guild have retreated into the sewers.
Whether they’re actually living down there is questionable. But they definitely control the sewers. Many people have disappeared in the tunnels, including an entire guard squadron.
Can you tell us something about the pirates?
Apparently, several hundred pirates are living on Sorrek island, and prowl the high seas with at least six vessels. A number of warships have been moved into the area to help reduce the danger.
What do you know about Bosper Jarnug?
Ah, there’s any amount of talk about the judge. He’s said to be an admier of physical beauty and partial to both sexes. Also, he’s been delivering quite dubious judgements for some time now, but no one’s been able to prove he’s taking bribes!
Enlighten us about Firun!
Up here in the north the White Hunter is revered more than in other regions of Arkania. Only a small number of His priests can be found in a temple. Most are out in the wilds, braving the forces of nature.
What’s your attitude towards Ifirn?
Where Firun rages in His ice-cold fury, people can still hope for His daughter’s mild justice, for Ifirn is filled with mercy for mankind.
I must return to my duties now. Good hunting everybody!
