[…] during the last full moon, the werewolf was seen again! And pretty close to the rat-catcher’s place it was, too. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s him, you know - probably, he’s been bitten by a wererat, and now he’s hiding in the sewers. It’s high time the guards did their duty: the guild, the rat-catcher, all those no-goodniks lurking about in the shadows ought to be put behind bars is what I say!
Tarik is constantly sneaking about near the Holberkians these days, as if he was one of them. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Tarik turned out to be in cahoots with the orcs and the Holberkians. He’s always been one to know what side his bread’s buttered on - I wouldn’t put it past him to sell out his town to the blackpelts for a few pieces of gold.
[…] the guild emptied a city guard warehouse not so long ago, all night a company was patrolling around it, and not one of them noticed! - Bad enough they let their gear get stolen out from right under their noses, now that scum is right well armed, cause that was where the kept the equipment for their elite units, no cheap iron there, only well-balanced blades and expensive armor!
[…] the tradesmaster was seen in town again just lately, so I’ve heard. It’s deplorable, isn’t it, when a tried and sentenced murderer can openly walk through town without being bothered! Right across the market square he walked, I’ve heard, and the guards just stood by and made stupid faces - can you believe it?
[…] the executioner must be sharpening his axe. From what you hear, the guards are preparing for a decisive blow against the guild. Heads are going to roll, and not just down in the sewers! That’ll be curtains for a high-placed official or two as well.
[…] there are another four “shipments” on route to the orcs from the Holberkians. There’s never been that much at one time. It won’t be long until they swarm over the town, probably. But there haven’t been any warriors sighted for months, those orcs did an excellent job camouflaging their army! The council has thought about using the opportunity to destroy that scum once and for all, but of course they’ll have to consider the consequences if Riva does fall to them later.
[…] the Ulfarans have moved, too! Well, they would, who’d want to stay there with the blackpelts? Sure, the Ulfarans have moved all the way to the other side of town, on the opposite river bank. - They said they didn’t care to have to move again in two years time. Those Holberkians are spreading through town at a frightening pace. Soon, they’ll have all the righteous citizens driven out, and then Riva will have fallen to the blackpelts without a fight.
[…] there’s travellers disappearing near town constantly. At first, people said they’d probably stumbled into the hidden army camp of the orcs, but’s is only single travellers what disappear. That sounds more like they’re being ambushed. I’d bet that’s the creep in the tower doing it, he’s starting to want more than just animals for his experiments!
[…] it seems like the judge’s made his moves on a woman again. For a while there it seemed he was only be interested in men. But hey, who cares what sorts Jarnug fools around with? Just as long as he leaves me alone!
[…] it seems the dwarves aren’t feeling all that comfortable so close to the water these days. They say more and more of them are returning to the mountains. I always said: They won’t stay long. No ore, flooded shafts. I don’t understand why they ever started looking for ore here of all places.
